His Little Girl
I was the Producer / Director / Writer / Editor.
It's a bit darker and more psychological than some of my more recent work.
I shot this with J. Ayscue back in Williamsburg, Virginia, when we both still worked for Colonial Williamsburg. I had a lot of fun making this film, but I think I'm a better film maker now than I was 11 years ago. I sure hope so, at least.
It was shot on 16mm and is 7 minutes long. It premiered at the Cannes You Dig It Film Festival in Cannes, France.

Welcome and thanks so much for the kind words!
I'm glad it caught you by surprise. :)
Part of the experience of watching this film is figuring out exactly who the main character is, and, hopefully, viewers change their mind as to who he is and what is happening as the film progresses.
I threw in a lot of red herrings.
Thanks for coming by!
Thanks for the welcome. Every film I have considered well made has that unsettling quality of never really fully letting me understanding what is going on while it is going on.
This short film had me believing it was about a man mourning his daughter, a man angry at his wife's involvement in his daughter's death, a divorced man angry at his wife for taking his daughter, then I thought I had cleverly figured out that it was the man that was dead and was haunting his previous life...ah I felt so clever at this point....and wham, you totally blew my mind....all in 7 minutes...I loved it...I hope you don't mind but I will be showing it at a little Halloween get together I am hosting.
You definitely have a new fan here.
Congratulations on attracting Ashra...Blessed be...
anyhow, I just started following your work and His Little Girl totally caught me by surprise...well done!

Thanks! I love your analysis. I think it would be awesome if you showed it at your Halloween party. Let me know how it goes. It's my favorite holiday.
Part of what I was doing with this film was subverting expectations. The only one on your list that wasn't conscious on my part was where he was a ghost haunting the house. (I love the idea, by the way.)
